Camp Director
Ann
Marie Gallo, Ed. D. earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership
and Change. She possesses a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelor
of Science in Physical Education and Athletic Training. In addition
to her Massachusetts teacher License, she is a licensed Emergency
Medical Technician.
After nine years of teaching and coaching at Minuteman Regional High School in Lexington, Ann Marie has been teaching at the college/university level. Presently, Ann Marie is a faculty member at Salem State College. As an Assistant Professor in the Sports, Fitness, and Leisure Studies Department, she prepares future physical educators by teaching pedagogy courses.
Ann Marie’s camp experience began at 8 years old, when her parents sent her and Joe (4 years old at the time) off to day camp. Since 1973, Ann Marie has not missed a summer of camp! As the founder of Summer’s Edge she is dedicated to providing quality programs for your child. Ann Marie and the Summer’s Edge Staff are proud to offer your camper a safe, yet exciting, camp environment.
Tennis Director
Joseph
A. Gallo is the director of Tennis Operations for Summer's Edge Incorporated.
He is a certified United States Tennis Teaching Professional. Joe earned
his doctorate degree in Sport Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University,
his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Delaware University and
his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Athletic Training from West Virginia
University. Presently, Joe is the program coordinator of the Athletic Training Program at the
Salem State College. As a member of the sports, fitness, and leisure studies department, he
teaches courses in athletic injury, examination, and rehabilitation.
In 1995 Joe developed Summer's Edge Tennis School and he is the founder of the school's flagship Swing & Swim® Program. Joe's expertise is in teaching high quality tennis instruction to youth in an enthusiastic and productive learning environment.
Assistant Director
Jacqueline
M. Supprise earned her Masters Degree of Education in Curriculum and
Instruction at Lesley College. Jackie received her Bachelor of Science
in Physical Education from UMass Boston. In addition to her Massachusetts
Teacher License, she is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician.
During the school year she is the Director of Physical Education and Health for Bedford Public Schools. She has experience in designing a variety of programs for multiple age levels.
Jackie joined the Summer’s Edge Community in 1992 as a counselor,
lifeguard, swim instructor, and presently is a camp administrator. Jackie
plans and accompanies many of the “out of camp” trips as
medical and water safety personnel.
